Garters

Traditionally brides were two garters on their right leg; one as a keepsake garter and the other for the throw away. The groom then removes the throw away garter and throws it to the single male guests after the bouquet toss. The male guest then takes the garter and places it on the leg of the single female guest who has caught the bouquet. In some instances those that catch either item are said to be the next to marry or they will marry each other.

Here are some leg toning tips.

Cut the Cake

The cutting of the wedding cake is ceremonial. The bride should pick up the knife in your cake cutting set and cut a small piece from the bottom of the cake. This is the piece of cake that the bride and groom will feed each other. After the first ceremonial cut, the cake is taken to the kitchen, where it's sliced and plated for your guest.

Traditionally, the top layer of the cake will be saved for the couple to celebrate their first anniversary.

Whatever you do ...don't shove cake in each other's face.
